This Autumn’s Must-See Exhibition Just Steps from Hôtel Observatoire Luxembourg

This autumn, an icon of Pop Art comes to the heart of Paris’s Left Bank. From September 16, 2026 to January 10, 2027, the Musée du Luxembourg presents Andy Warhol: The Line and the Image, an exhibition revealing a more intimate and lesser-known side of the American artist: his relationship with drawing.

Discover Another Side of Andy Warhol

Marilyn Monroe, Campbell’s Soup cans, brightly coloured screen prints… Andy Warhol’s visual universe is instantly recognisable. Yet behind these iconic images was an artist who never stopped drawing.

Through approximately 150 works, the exhibition traces this practice from his early career as a commercial illustrator to his later graphic experiments. Drawings, paintings, screen prints, photographs and archival documents reveal how drawing became a genuine creative laboratory for Warhol.

The exhibition notably explores his distinctive blotted line technique, alongside documents from The Factory archives and preparatory drawings for some of his major works.

An Artistic Escape from Hôtel Observatoire Luxembourg

It would be difficult to imagine a better starting point for discovering the exhibition than Hôtel Observatoire Luxembourg. Located on Boulevard Saint-Michel, opposite the Jardin du Luxembourg, this four-star boutique hotel, completely redesigned in 2025, provides easy access to the museum.

After your visit, enjoy the autumn colours of the Jardin du Luxembourg, before continuing your walk through the Latin Quarter or towards Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

Back at the hotel, take a seat at Luco, the hotel’s restaurant, and extend your Parisian experience over a meal.

Combining Pop Art, an autumn stroll and the art of living on the Left Bank, the Andy Warhol exhibition offers an excellent reason to enjoy a stay in Paris this autumn.
